Shorts & Transitioning

(1, 2, 3)

Shorts, they're the perfect transitional piece and with winter lurking around the corner I thought I could share with you some of my current favorite styles and the ways I like to wear them through the colder months.

The Skort has been around for well over a year now and it's still going strong, they give a slightly more feminine appeal to a regular pair of shorts and the reason why I'm so into them is because it gives the look of a skirt but it's much more wearable. Particularly as I have a 4 year old to run after and the skort saves me from having any wardrobe malfunctions on the playground. To make it work for the winter I'll be adding a good thick pair of black tights, a sweater with a peterpan collar and a shoe with some buckle detailing.

Leather look Shorts have always been a standard in my wardrobe- in black of course, and this pair from Ark is giving me total Sports Luxe vibes which was a big trend seen all over the SS14 catwalks. To take these shorts into the autumn/winter I'll be pairing them with a statement boot and oversized coat.

Last but not least and probably my most favorite style is the the lingerie-esque (sorry, made up word alert) Lace Trim Shorts, last autumn we saw lots of lingerie style dresses around and this season we have shorts too. I absolutely adore the look of them with a strappy sandal or court shoe, a super baggy knit (the longer the better, then you just get that flirty peek of lace coming through) and of course, the obligatory statement hat for an ultra chic look.

Thanks for reading and let me know how you'll be wearing your shorts this A/W,
